Isn't that exactly what they want though, to have all Halal meat packaging and Halal meat on menus clearly marked, so they can make a big show of turning it down in disgust?

Yes, but the question is why.
From the incoherent ramblings it is hard to distinguish a clear motive.
• Some claim that eating Halal meat defiles them, through a presumably metaphysical process of religious ingestion.
• Others that it is a political concession too far.
• Others - just prejudice, racial and religious.

If you consider (as most vegetarians would) that the method of slaughtering is wrong, then you could go for the second reason without invoking the first or third, in fact there would be good sense and logic behind it. You would not have to be a racist, as would be likely if you only cited the 'Muslimness' of the practice, or didn't include Kosher slaughtering in your objections.

I'm not very good at identifying meat, but wouldn't it be a delicious irony if the Mail had illustrated that article with a pork steak? It looks vaguely porky to me but the sprig of Rosemary suggests that it might be a nice bit of lamb.

1) She's not a chocolatier, she's a chocolatiere.
2) She isn't making chocolate. That's an involved and highly technical process. She's moulding chocolate, or making things out of chocolate.
