I take it every single one of the people who have made overboard comments on this (which is most) either drive 100% British manufactured cars, or don't drive at all then? No?...

When the Civil unrest comes, the Government will be scratching their heads wondering why.
- Sheeple, Essex, 17/4/2012 20:23
Yep, he's here again. "civil unrest" is a bit of a hars prediction given it's only a few bloody cars.
Just what cars do they suggest we use then, seeing as they are all such experts on "British" cars,

There are several aspects to this that I dislike. Firstly that anyone should get preferential treatment and a special traffic lane. Secondly that they are using volunteers instead of taking people stuck on the dole and desperate for a few weeks work. Thirdly they should have used Jaguars, forget the eco bull, use a decent car

Well I'm not moving for one of them and if you so much as touch my car you will be stuck there all day whilst I slowly take details and call the police to attend. They have no chance our yobs will shut these lanes and good luck to them.

Added for the simple reason he is a cunt. I'll be adding his name to the pretentious usernames topic as well.

]Equates to £160m in cars. Even if they were only worth £20K each that would still be £80m. Build a few hospitals with that. Still, "we're all in it together".
- Dave, Brighton, 17/4/2012 19:46
Really? Does it? Can anyone confirm this assumption, as Dave obviuously has no evidence with which to do so.

Fine cars indeed. Hundreds of thousands pumped into the German economy, which is good for them, but not for us! What a tremendous waste of money! What's wrong with the bus or the tube? Aren't all of the politicians trying to get everybody else to use public transport? Where's my luxury BMW? Wonder what I have to do to qualify, probably introduce some daft taxes and charge people £250,000 for dinner.
- JK, England, 17/4/2012 19:32
Let's look at this for a moment. If things were reversed, if our athletes were taking part in an olympics elsewhere and the press decided to make a point of "informing" us that they had to use public transport, what sort of responce do we think that would get?

A broken down car or two in the limpic lane should do it. A few missed races might get the point across
- Me, North East of what is left of England, 17/4/2012 19:23
Great idea. Never mind how embarrassing, pathetic, rubbish and otherwise bitter and useless we would look to the rest of the world if that happened, but the only affect this kind of action would have on the games would be to cause anger, annoyance and widespread complaint from all those taking part. Never mind that though Me, as long as you enjoy yourself "sticking it to the man".

Team Adidas and Team BMW when will they pick Team GB. I will only support a team wearing my countries colours not Germany's colours and Germany's cars

The same arsehole again, this time confusing branded clothing and car companies with actual nations and teams. An Utter shitstick.

Adidas kit made in Indonesia and now BMW cars. Another massive boost for the British economy. Come clean Lord Coe is there going to be any British involvement ?. - meerkat says, spain, 17/4/2012 17:57 Yes! we get the bill.
- Dave Bridge, Southport UK, 17/4/2012 19:16
No matter where the games where happening, this would still be the case. How much do they care about where all this sports kit gets made the rest of the time, it's still the same kit you know - made in the same places far away.

I can remember when we used to scoff at the Russians having special lanes for their top bosses - and here we are! I understand this lot is costing TEN times the original estimate - why is it that I keep thinking of Enron when I here the Olympics or our 'Government' discussed? To paraphrase the comments of a motoring celebrity "they should be taken out and shot" - which because I am just a peasant may well get me arrested?
- Mike, Dorchester Dorset, 17/4/2012 19:04
You'll be informing the Mail of your arrest misery when it happens will you? Do get in touch with them for your sadface opportunity to prove freedom of speech has been destroyed in Britain, only I think the public must know this sort of thing happens every day!

Two medals to anyone giving the fleet a good keying. The notion of VIP only lanes is an undemocratic disgrace George Orwell would have a field day - the Olympic spirit is well and truly dead.
- Tony , Worthing , 17/4/2012 18:34
Ding dong! First olympic 1984 reference in the online comments, what do I win?
Quote:
how on earth are VIP only lanes legal in a democracy???...............

UKnotOK missing the point somewhat. The "anything but Pippa" is a new addition for this regular poster, perhaps his old name was getting to easy to spot?
