I saaw his novel in the Oxfam bookshop. It reminded me of Mailwatch. I didn't buy it myself, mind - people might see me and think I like that kind of thing. How embarassing!

I believe that the Wikipedia entry on Littlejohn (which someone else is sure to have the link for) mentioned something about a Littlejohn radio show in 1994 where he was talking about age-of-consent protests. I didn't actually hear said show (I was twelve at the time) but the Wiki mentioned his flamethrower comments. He's also made jokes about gay people getting killed in his columns, I think. Johann Hari had at least one article up on his website about this.

I doubt that's possible, people buy bigoted bile, people enjoy bigoted bile, because they're sheltered, uneducated middle-England fuckwits.

Stanye, you are correct of course, and upon reflection I realise that Littlejohn doesn't underestimate his readers' intelligence. Would it be fair to say that he exploits their stupidity though? I really can't stomach him, but it would be great if someone posted a deconstruction of his latest column of high quality 'journalism'.

I think John Littledick isn't as stupid as he comes across, he could write for the Telegraph but he is so bigoted he knows how easy it is to promote hatred in thick twats and therefore does it, he truly does manipulate their stupidity.

What on Earth does Littlesociopath mean by the phrase, 'Fascist Left'? I get the feeling that he wants to smear Leftists as authoritarian or autocratic, but cannot spell either word and hasn't looked at a diagram of the politcial spectrum for quite a while. You have to admire his audacity though, partly for coining such a populist meme and also for calling other mostly innocuous people fascist when he *is* a recruiting sergeant for the BNP.
