Does anyone know what this complete tool is prattling on about?

Employees in both the private and public sectors should show a bit of courage by refusing to comply with ridiculous H&E regulations; if it results in the sack - so be it! It didn't do me a lot of practical good, but I held my head high when I recently refused to be judged by a panel of fifteen 12yr old school-kids; and I kept my integrity when I refused to drop the words 'Cockney', 'Brummie' and 'Geordie' from my vocabulary. Sod 'em! Who'd want to work with these PC wimps?

My guess - the panel of fifteen '12yr old school-kids' is obviously some kind of shit metaphor for an employment tribunal and his use of 'Cockney', 'Brummie' and 'Geordie' was undoubtedly followed by something that rhymes with anchor.

Integrity?
It must be great to have principles. Yep, losing your job because your employer is an unethical/criminal/racist/corrupt shit and you consider your position as untenable is EXACTLY the same as someone telling you to stop being a rude cunt to people you work with.

The Mail's seagull coverage included an article criticising the HSE's new Mythbusters Panel for not responding immediately to the Mail's inquiry (or, should I say, the Mail's demand that the HSE Panel agree with what the Mail told them).

But the Panel issued a statement on the day the Mail put the story on the front page:

Quote:
"We have now had chance to examine the facts in this case and it is clear that it was not about health and safety at all. The fire service itself has made clear that their decisions at Carlshalton were not based on health and safety factors. We endorse this view.

"The Myth Buster Challenge Panel has been set up to bring common sense back to decisions made in the name of health and safety, and to do our job properly we need to establish the facts. We will try our best to meet deadlines when we can but not at the expense of working on hearsay rather than facts. We said that we aim to make a response within 48 hours and it has taken us less than 24 hours to respond to this case."

Despite the Mail's demands that the Panel give them an immediate response, the Mail hasn't published this statement, despite it being released on Friday.

I wonder why?

Excellent work, as ever, MacGuffin.

The "reply in 5 days" stuff- could that have been automatic email response?

They seem to have given up posting comments on Littledick's effort. What's the betting that there were too many pointing out that the entire foundation of the article was total bollocks?

I hope there's a PCC-substitute complaint in the works.

Giant Olympic sandcastle that cost £5,000 and took four days to build is demolished because of elf 'n' safety fears

Unmoderated, if you can be bothered to point out what bollocks it is.

There is, of course, something that will always trump Elf'n'Safety.

I kno it's off-topic but I did like this one from the sandcastle story.

Quote:
£5,000 for a sandcastle is nothing as far as Weymouth is concerned. We have spent £300,000 on a load of rocks on poles and a further £1.3 million or so on a load of 'intelligent' traffic lights which have replaced beautiful roundabouts and created even more traffic than was ever there before. I gave up months ago to be honest.

I never knew traffic-lights create traffic! :? So that's where all them cars come from
