This is another buzz phrase that's going to come up a fair bit. The bore who's MP for Stratford tried to use it a couple of times last week. He didn't say "the thing is, Ed Milliband's a millionaire himself" or anything. It popped out of his mouth, fully-formed.

This seems to originate somewhere near Guido Fawkes' painful offerings. The Flannelled Fool Harry Cole has Tweeted that Ed is a millionaire, and this seems to be based on the fact that his house is worth more than a million pounds, which is a novel interpretation of the term, even by the standards of the perennially thirsty Paul Stains and his gopher.

I recall something about inheritance tax.

Bizarrely, when it comes to raising taxes on the wealthy, they have no issues pointing out that "just because I'm worth a million quid doesn't mean I've got that money to fritter away blah blah blah"

I think the general thrust of the argument is that he's a hypocrite for being wealthy and still claiming to have the interests of the squeezed middle at heart. Quite how this information squares with the Mail's wishes that we all vote Conservative has yet to be adequately explained.
