This article's a week old, but I couldn't see it posted anywhere else. Either way, it's truly desperate.

Patients 'failed' by NHS visit A&E up to 100 times a year, shows shocks report

Quote:
Patients being ‘failed’ by the Health Service are checking themselves into accident and emergency units more than 100 times a year, according to shocking new figures.

...

An unfortunate five patients went to A&E more than 100 times.

Bloody cripples with their chronic illnesses. If only there was some way to get rid of these useless eaters. As you might expect, the comments are typically sympathetic.

Quote:
How on earth can someone admit themselves to hospital. You probably mean they go to see some liberal, soft, pathetic doctor who hasnt the backbone to tell them to sod off there isnt anything wrong with them that justifies hospital. They are the same doctors who give out sick notes like biscuits. Plonkers

If the drunks & druggies were kept out of A&E the staff could concentrate on those who are ill. Go to any A&E after 9pm and you will find foul mouthed, foul smelling, sometimes incontinent drunks & druggies demanding to be seen. Why should we have to pay for these idiots? The staff have enough to do looking after those who are from real accidents or are real emergancies.

What a mixed up article. What do health service providers expect? It is seven years since hospital were supposed to start implementing provision for those with long term conditions but they have done virtually nothing. Very few hospitals have yet implemented the six-year-old NICE guidelines for diseases like Parkinson's disease. Many people with long term conditions have had to go without any support whilst the NHS has spent vast sums of money on the obese, the drunks and the promiscuous. The NHS should be there primarily for the sick. So why are the sick are having to be muddled up with, and queue behind, the greedy? I just don't understand.

Why shouldn't they? Medical treatment is free, but there is no clinical need for the parents to have copies.

I'm pretty certain my sons paid for the scans of the grandkids. I know they charge at St George's. Nothing to see...

Didn't the scans story run about 6 months ago?

NHS bashing... or not, as the case may be.

Strangely positive NHS article.

Now this week the ShiteRag has run a couple of articles that are contradictory to its normal stance. Most notably a pretty neutral article about the BBC (not exactly glowing with approval but non-negative all the same) and that had Cunt-Face Revoir's name on it, too.

They even slagged off Drownton Abbey.

What are they up to, I wonder?

Ill-iterate! Hospital red-faced as misspelled entrance sign reads 'HOSPITRAL'... and there's an apostrophe missing in St Luke's

Quote:
Bungling NHS chiefs have been criticised after a main entrance hospital sign mistakenly read ‘HOSPITRAL’.

Red-faced staff were forced to correct the error after a dog walker spotted the embarrassing gaffe last week.

The suits painted the signs, did they? Even before PFI, it was a job that would have been done by the bungling private sector.

Inaccurate article simply so they can attack an NHS hospital.

Comments are the usual shite, although they seem to be almost all nasty all the way through from red to green.

Kate here is showing a questionable understanding of the quote mark. Incidentally the article doesn't mention if the neurosurgeon worked for the NHS or not, I'm inclined to assume he does.

Wouldn't be a mail article without at least one quote suggesting it's the fault of forrins.

and, top rated, naturally

I hope these knuckleheads realise these NHS doctors are the exact same ones who treat people in the private sector too. The majority of consultants I work with do private work.

If the DM had wanted, this could have just as easily been an uplifting "Accident Victim Makes Miracle Recovery" story.

That only happens in Bupa hospitals in their world.

Uplifting stories don't happen in Dacre's fantasy world.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2139372/MRSA-cases-plummet-doctors-nurses-patients-clean-hospital-sinks.html

And the commentators still manage to slate the NHS!

Quote:
When I started my nurse training over 20 years ago MRSA was unheard of! When you came into hospital for ANY sort of operation you had to shower/bathe before hand! No jewellery, makeup, false nails, outdoor shoes/clothes ect But not now- why??? Because it's an infringement of a persons' human right to have them cleaned before theatre!! But rather than offending anyone we risk them and the staff getting MRSA!!

What the flip are you on about?

Quote:
get rid of the looney left pc dogooders and put in proper nurses!

I bet the rise in infections is strongly correlated with the decline in traditional nursing skills. I guess learning about washing hands, making sure patients are fed and watered and keeping wards clean is far too basic for a degree course.

Quote:
Seems like the embattled NHS lefties don't like to hear the truth. We need the OLD STYLE Matron back to sort out dirty hospitals, not 'clincial leads' or some other silly titled person who is nothing like the old style matron. Hand washing is an important part in hygiene but it is no good on its own without the strict hygiene that used to prevail in our hospitals - until the bolshy lefty bureacurats and unions took over.
- VFN, London, 4/5/2012 12:59

VFN is an idiot.

If I had a pound for every one of those comments...I wish we could send these idiots back to the 1950's in a time machine.
