Our youngest children are under the ministerial care of this complete airhead.
Given that almost every expert educationist, professional organisation and parent evr consulted has said that rigid targets for under-fives are not simply misleading and pointless bit can also be damaging - what has this bonehead with no knowledge or experience of education decided to do?
The comments show the usual grasp of the point as well. But then, they're little kids, so it doesn't really matter. Does it?

Bob Neill seems to have been chosen specially so that his boss Pickles doesn't feel intellectually intimidated. If there's a reshuffle, he might have to swap with John Hayes (Business and Skills).

When Teather was in opposition a number of teachers lobbied her about how schools were using unqualified cover supervisors to replace supply teachers, she was provided with lots of evidence to show that many schools were abusing the system to provide education on the cheap. Teather promised she would do everything she could to tackle the problem to ensure all pupils were taught by qualified teachers. Now she is in government she seems to have developed the same selective memory problems usually associated with News International employees.
Not that I knew that much about her at the time, but I always used to think she came across quite well on QT in the pre-coalition days. Nowadays it's embarrassing the extent to which she completely toes the Tory party line. Proper Judas character.

Completely agree. She pretty much ran her General Election campaign on the basis of 'Vote for me to keep the Tories out' and now she can't go near a camera without mentioning something about inheriting a mess.

It's interesting that the Green Paper on SEN, which was her baby, seems to have hit the buffers. At one point the word was that they were keen to push this through and a draft Bill was imminent, but it's been imminent now for around 8 weeks without anything happening. Allegedly she's extremely unhappy as Gove's underling, but then who wouldn't be.
