However, the Dacre Drip isn't working. Top rated comments are:
I think what most peopel don't realise is that even the genuinely sick are being kicked off their benefits not just the fakers. I am all for kicking the fakers off benefits but there are people who are genuinely ill particularly with mental illnesses who simply cannot work and are having their benefits removed and being told that they are fit even although this goes against all medical advice. If you are mentally ill you are not fit to look for a job therefore you do not qualify for jobseekers. I have worked my whole life and paid my taxes but should I fall ill I am sure there will be no benefits for me. There are people receiving chemotherapy who have been told that they are fit to work this cannot be right. Like I say I am totally in favour of removing the wasters and the feckless from the benefit system but I strongly believe that is NOT who is being hit. They have social workers and all sorts fighting their corner most of us do not.

As Full Fact point out:
It is true that, according to government statistics, 55 per cent of incapacity benefit claimants have been reassessed as Fit for Work in Brentwood, justifying the Mail’s headline.http://fullfact.org/factchecks/are_most ... he_country
But it is important to remember that this figure of 55 per cent is the highest in the report, with some areas as low as 17 per cent (Bexley and Wealden), 18 per cent (Ribble Valley, Greenwich and Surrey Heath) and 19 per cent (Perth & Kinross).
It is also dangerous to dub Brentwood the "skiving capital of Britain" based on a sample of only around 60 cases - one the smallest caseload figures across all 390 areas in the study. There is also no data to indicate whether these individuals are fraudulently 'skiving' work or whether this is just a result of more stringent assessment criteria.
