Jesus Christ what does this say about the standards of British journalism?

I wouldn't expect anything less of the mail.

Narcissism requires denial and a host of other psychological defense mechanisms.

Hmmmmmmm, I don't have a whole heap of that fancy book learning so maybe I am missing something. Can anyone shed any light on precisely what legal reasons?

Four comments have now been allowed on the article. Guess the earlier message citing "legal reasons" was just nonsense.

The citation for Littlejohn read: 'This year's recipient is, in modern cliché terms, a Marmite columnist: you either love him or loathe him.

So Wally Toynbee criticises Littledick by saying he's boring. The imposter is congratulated for this by a Right-winger for winding up the real Wally Toynbee who is a Lefty.
I'm so confused I think I might just explode.

Does he not realise that his ever so clever references to members of the forum are utterly lost on everyone, except those of us who use the forum? Who does he think he will entertain with that, the people who read the comments won't have a clue what he's on about.

And as for the Marmite comment about Littlejohn, I personaly don't find it that difficult to ignore Marmite should I want to. Even the people responsible for judging these worthless competitions cannot come up with a workable analogy about him.

I think we should have a Brilliant Watch thread. I mentioned elsewhere how The Mail always use 'brilliant' to describe their hacks.

A more apt analogy on Zelo Street
Quote:
The Mail has characteristically lauded Dick as “brilliant” and “outstanding”, with the judges telling that “you can’t ignore him”, which is as true as if you left the back door open on a hot summer day, only to let in a wandering cat that shat on the mat and stank the place out.

But he's increasingly ignored, isn't he? 50 comments is feeble.

He's a busted flush.
He's only speaking to the loony fringe now.

The internet, so miserably misunderstood by Drippy Dacre, means that more and more people realise that his schtick is schitt. His 'faithful followers' are clearly none-too-savvy or they'd see the rebuttals everywhere.

It's more like an ant shitting your mat, and its followers getting huffy 'cos you didn't get as angry as you did when the cat Type 7'd all over your duvet.

Wally lost the plot a long time ago. Getting banned from here seems to have tipped him further into the abyss as witnessed by his obsessional rants in the comments. As you say the other commentators must be bemused by him.

I think you've misread it, it says "unlike Marmite, you can't forget him and you can't ignore him" so it's saying that you can ignore Marmite but impossible to ignore Littlejohn.
Marmite is one of the oldest brands still in production, I doubt there can be many Brits who have never tasted it or who would fail to recognise the jar. The same cannot be said of Littlecock, and Marmite will be remembered long after he's dead and gone.
