Good point. I'd say both.

Yeah not bad really. Solid batting from Peter Hain, especially when getting his teeth into the "mess we inherited" shit. John O'Farrell was also consistently good - was it he who referred to Boris as a "part-time clown"?

McKenzie didn't fill me with such rage as I expected - I mean he's a twat, but I found him more tedious than irritating.

I expected to be more outraged by the twunt, he just sounds like an annoying fly buzzing at the window now. Agree O'Farrell was brilliant, and shows what a good non MP guest brings to the proceedings.

Leveson has pulled the sting from insects like McKenzie. The bullies have been called, the other kids in the playground have seen their feet of clay. That may be the important thing that comes out of the enquiry.

Sting being pulled? Don't you mean 'a chilling effect on journalism'*?

That would be a tantric wank I expect.

According to iPlayer:
Quote:
David Dimbleby chairs the debate from King's Lynn with panellists John Prescott, David Willetts, Caroline Lucas, Griff Rhys Jones and Minette Marrin.

Now, I know Lord Prescott should be a laugh, Caroline Lucas is Green, Jones is an actor/whatsit/yeahhim, Willetts I've only heard referred to and no idea who Marrin is.

Guessing Willetts and Marrin will be the right-wing side? Considering Lord Prescott and Lucas are lefties.

Minette has her own website.

http://www.minettemarrin.com/

I think I need to go and stock on alcohol.

Minette Marrin is mad as a bag of hedgehogs, if I'm going to sit through her I may have to mainline smack via my eyeballs. A trip to the 'ice-cream van' for me tonight.

I can't believe I haven't posted Griff Rhys Jones in the 'You know what I hate?' or 'Faces you could punch' threads. Jeez that man is annoying. If I were Dara O'Briain I'd have pushed him into every river and canal in Britain by now.

Kings Lynn is near where I went to school and unless it's changed immensely it's going to be hostile territory for Prescott, a bit less so for Lucas. It's rural Tory posh with a skilled working class that is mostly self-employed (builders, gardeners) and a large unskilled lumpenproletariat working in fish processing factories or seasonal jobs in tourism and on the land. Back then it was 115% white, and the kind of place you'd leave straight away unless you had a) lots of money or b) zero ambition.

I suspect there'll be a lot of immigrunt-bashing.

Has it still got the large Eastern European population it had a few years ago or have they all gone home now?
I saw a documentary or two about migrant workers in Spalding, Wisbeach, Downham Market etc about 5 years ago, most of the locals they interviewed were expressing views which would gladden Nick Griffin and Niggle Fuggle's hearts whilst sporting bulldog tattoos and broken noses.
