Paddy Ashdown was right after him. Arsehole.

Maria Miller squeezed in a least a couple of references during Question Time on Thursday evening.

Yeah, right on, Dave - you don't mind if I call you Dave, do you? I mean it's not like Britain's really broken now, is it?

I don't recall Ed Balls being Chancellor of the Exchequer, or personally masterminding a global financial crash.

I'm not really an Ed Balls fan but I do enjoy the way he so clearly gets on Cameron's tits. Every week at PMQs he struggles to contain himself because he's got Balls taking the piss out of him relentlessly. Very funny.

Aww, look how happy the Tories are in their insular world, bouncing up and down with glee at petty insults laced with sheer ignorance and arsetalk.

Bastards.

I've seen Balls accused of 'sledging' DC. Apparently today he was going on about Shiny Dave's claret intake, and it really got under his skin. I think the 'muttering idiot' must have been Balls. He hasn't forgiven Dave one little bit for the Tourette's jibes. He also knows that Dave will eventually blow and then we see the Flashman side, and the mask slips just a bit.

There's your Broken Britain™ right there, led by a man firing out an insult in the Commons that would be more suited to a primary school playground.

Simon Hoggart discusses today's sledging in his perennially entertaining sketch:

Quote:
The Conservative party resembles the survivors on the Raft of the Medusa, dying of starvation and thirst, waving desperately at an invisible sail, hearing that someone has just kicked over the last bucket of fresh water.

I think a "What about the mess they're going to leave behind" mantra is long overdue.

Q1 GDP now revised down to -0.3% from -0.2%, says the ONS. Gordon Brown's fault, obviously.

I see construction output was down by a whopping 4.8%. We could always provide the construction industry with a shot in the arm by actually building some council houses, but unfortunately we have a housing minister who's apparently happier with pathetic supply-side tinkering instead.

Mehdi Hasan ‏@ns_mehdihasan

...ignoring the empirical fact that the economy was growing and unemployment falling when Tories took over in May 2010. Typical! (2/2)

Mehdi Hasan Mehdi Hasan ‏@ns_mehdihasan

I was just on Five Live with Tory MP Peter Bone debating latest (lack of) growth figures. Bone went with "we inherited a mess"... (1/2)
