Either way, the Express have grossly misinterpreted/over-simplified what the ECHR actually said there haven't they (just for a change)? Not read every last in and out but I don't think they just said "you will give all prisoners the vote".

On the bright side, there's always the thought of a cavassing Gideon or Nargle Fargle being bundled off to a quiet corner and bent over by 'Razors' and his burly, sex-starved compratiots on 'B' Wing...have that one on me, PT.

I take the JS Mill line (sort of) that a crime is when one person abrogates the liberties of another person, in effect removes from them one or more of their 'rights'. In return the state takes away the liberties (or rights) of the perpetrator.

A sound argument were it not for the fact that removing all rights includes the right to fair trial, trial by jury, humane treatment, life etc.

Not at all. Those are the stages the accused goes through before rights are removed. And I was careful to say that not all rights are removed.
The Bill of Rights covers the rest (rights being restored after punishment etc.)

To read the Express, you'd think this country had the wildest climate on earth, and that Moses would recognise the challenges it poses us.

Well, 81 degrees sounds so much more impressive than 27 Celsius. You'll notice when it goes the other way and is freezing they switch to Celsius (because zero degrees sounds better than 32)

And most of their readers won't be able to do the conversion.*

In my case it is. I mean, it's smiles interspersed with sneezes, but hey I've finally turned the heating off during the fourth week of May.

Is it really that early for hayfever? I'd call March "early".

"Could" is not the same as "will", and the magical "seaweed pill" that the headline mentions doesn't even exist.
