I bet someone blames "elf and safety" or the Council Jobsworths

Nice bit of publicity for his act there.

I agree, if he had done real damage to his neck he wouldn't be wearing such a flimsy surgical collar, he would be lying in a hospital bed.

Instead of lying in the DM.

And on an even more depressing note, the antiziganism I keep seeing in politics and the media across Europe leads me to believe that I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of massacre/ethnic cleansing of Romany and/or Irish Traveller gypsies happened during my lifetime.....

It does seem to be a growing resentment.

But. Having experienced the aftermath of traveller camps a couple of times in the past (one first hand, one third hand), I can 100% understand a company like Ikea not wanting people setting up on their car park.

Simple - let them in to buy some flimsy tables etc, and if they pitch up overnight organise an impromptu fireworks display (without setting the caravans on fire)

Bride and groom left with no snaps of their wedding day after photographer lost memory card in a boozy brawl (and couple claim he hasn't even said sorry!)

The husband could have look a bit more bothered, but the enormous, empty, diamond-shaped, photo frame is very poignant.

Picture suggest they are slightly sad not to have the pictures but happy they have managed to get their faces in the paper.

Compare and contrast two seemingly contradictory statements

I can't believe that only one person took an decent pictures at the wedding. There must have been plenty of relatives and guests with cameras or phones.

I did a total of 2 weddings as a semi-pro. Never again. It's absolutely nerve-wracking - I used 3 cameras just to be safe. I wouldn't even do it for friends without #3 son backing me up as the informal snapper. He did a couple, too, and feels the same. The chance of failure is small, but the effects are catastrophic for your business. And not nice for the happy couple, though as you say it's usually possible to cobble something together.

At #1's wedding they put disposable cameras on every table and collected them all in at the end - that way everybody there, just about, got their picture taken. Massive overkill, but cheap!

They get a mate to do it for free who is an amateur photographer and, reading between the lines, has a bit of form as a dickhead. When it all goes tits up they run to the newspapers. Why? (Oh why oh why?)

When I did mine I got into a cab from the wedding and went straight to a professional processing lab and handed the film in myself...

I'm not sure if he should feel miffed or muffed by it all.
