I did a total of 2 weddings as a semi-pro. Never again. It's absolutely nerve-wracking - I used 3 cameras just to be safe. I wouldn't even do it for friends without #3 son backing me up as the informal snapper. He did a couple, too, and feels the same. The chance of failure is small, but the effects are catastrophic for your business. And not nice for the happy couple, though as you say it's usually possible to cobble something together.

At #1's wedding they put disposable cameras on every table and collected them all in at the end - that way everybody there, just about, got their picture taken. Massive overkill, but cheap!

We collected some strange photos of our wedding from friends - including one taken at a really weird angle, and another photo of the photographer responsible demonstrating precisely why the first was at such a weird angle, i.e. because at that stage the photographer wasn't capable of standing up straight.

Ten pounds says this dick is doing a show at the festival this year. Remind me where mate, so I know not to hang around there when you fucking show up.

Well that's going to smooth over relations between them and the mate is it, going to the papers about what a dick he's been.

Boy of 12 who ran up £1,700 phone bill in a month chatting to girlfriend on his father's mobile

Image

Odd sadfacing - the kid has a bit of a "you couldn't make it up" look, and the dad looks like he finds it all rather funny. An odd story too - he didn't notice his son having 2-hour conversations on his mobile, and then there's this contradiction...
Quote:
Dennis Rushen, left, has now cut up his SIM card after finding out his son Oscar has run up the astronomical bill speaking to his girlfriend

Quote:
‘I’ve done that and I’ve made lots of calls – although I didn’t think at first and Oscar was still making calls when the complaint began,’ he added.

‘In the end I told him to give me his SIM card. I cut it up and told him I wasn’t paying any more.

So, was it the father's phone or the son's?

Quote:
The £10.50 deal comes with 300 free minutes per month and unlimited text messages. Any extra calls cost 35p per minute.

By my (possibly wrong) maths, I make that 2 hours and 42 minutes of calls every day, assuming that the girl never called him. Doesn't seem likely that both sets of parents could fail to notice their offspring spending that amount of time on the phone, or that a 12-year-old would want to spend that much time making phone calls.

I'd think a 12 year old would be more likely to text his girlfriend rather than chat (girlfriend at 12? Bah.. insert old fogey rant here..)

I think we're missing part of the story here. They didn't go abroad for a week did they?? (The father's name crops up a lot related to F1 racing, so it's quite possible).

At the top of the story it says that the father is retired but in the main bit of the story it describes him as a racing car manager. On Google Dennis Rushen is described as former manager of Ayrton Senna. If he is connected to motor racing the father probably does a lot of travelling abroad.

Including the map is a nice touch I'm sure none of the readers would have a clue where the Philippines were without having the map in the shot.
Because so few people now have their milk delivered it really wouldn't make economic sense to employ somebody full time at every local diary on the off chance that a customer might want to order an extra couple of pints one day. If a diary does need to use a call centre then of course they will opt for the cheapest option of subcontracting the work overseas.

Not just Jan Moir. Florida's finest has covered this as well.
