Starkey has shot his mouth off about how the Rochdale rapists committed their crimes as a result of being fuzzy-wuzzy forrins from the Punjab foothills - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... z1ykfX8Hot

And the BNP's entire membership has clearly received orders to spend the afternoon sending comments saying how right he was and hitting the arrows like mad things. The arrows on every single comment are well into four figures, with the best rated -
Quote:
The fact that he is absolutely right makes no difference to the brainwashed, P.C. zealots.
- kommonsens, Sheffield, 24/6/2012 16:04

- being at over 4500.

You have to wonder, yet again, just how brain dead the BNP membership have to be to think that anyone actually gives a toss about arrows on comments on the Mail website.

David Starkey maybe a "Historian", but his geography is very poor. All but one of the men convicted came from Pakistan (the other was from Afghanistan) and Punjab is in India. Two different countries altogether. Its like mixing up France and the UK. Actually its worse than that, because at least France / UK are both Christian countries. Pakistan is a Muslim country run by a Islamic government, whilst India is a Hindu country run by a democratic government.

Say no more - why let facts get in the way of a good dog whistle!

If the hardcore right-wingers could ditch Cameron and form their own dream cabinet, then surely Starkey would get Minister for Culture.

Actually the Punjab is a historical region which straddles the border of North West India and Eastern Pakistan so it is incorrect to assume, as HJS does, that a Punjabi is a) Pakistani b) Muslim (also there are Muslims in India and Hindus in Pakistan of course).

Just a trifle worrying that a supposedly reputable historian is as cavalier as that with facts. It might make you doubt his accuracy on historical facts, I couldn't possibly comment.

It's not the cavalier attitude to the facts that gets me, it's the out and out racist cuntery.

It's not out until September, so you haven't ;)

(It's Olivia Thirlby as Judge Anderson in the upcoming Dredd film)

Looks really familiar. I've seen a lot of big budget budget and zero budget sci fi action films in my time though.

That error is HJS's not Starkey's however.
Starkey's error is being a racist bigot and airing his views in public to ensure we all know it.
