The chilling comment from one of the world’s top coaches seems to herald the possibility of Frankenstein athletes, of an unbeatable master-race of genetically manipulated super-competitors with enhanced lung-power, or heightened strength, or some other characteristic that enables them to snatch medal after medal from honest competitors.

Jesus fucking christ. How is this "newspaper" so popular.

Because most people are not terribly clever, and are likely to say 'there's no smoke without fire' long before they say 'what's the evidence for that?'

Laboratory experiments have already shown that the science can work. In 2005, Ronald Evans, a hormone expert working at the Salk Institute of Biological Studies in La Jolla, California, showed how genetic modification can increase the athletic power of mice

They actually do eat bird's nests.

After the breeding season they take the used nests of certain species of swiftlet, a bird that binds its nests together with its own saliva to form a hard, shell-like cocoon. They then boil them down to make a gelatinous textured stock that can be used to make the soup or, alternatively, a sweet dish.

Delicious.

It looks like at least half the comments under the article have been posted by American's so stories like this clearly get the site plenty of clicks state side.

I particularly like this one.

So are the Chinese good workers who show our lazy workers the way, or androids?

Best to err on the side of idiot unless you know better. If you think about it too much you'll hit Mail Burnout quicker than is normally considered healthy. And that's happened to the best of us. If that happens refrain from looking at the wank stain of a Website for couple of weeks and spend some time in Off-Topic rehab. Seriously.

They also used to bind feet.

Made illegal in 1949, iirc. One of the first actions of the communist government. That'd explode a few Mailie heads.

I think you're right about this, I could do with a break from it already. It's weird, things don't tend to bother me in general. At all. But there's something about those fucktards that do, and I'm thinking it's the simple fact that you just can't talk face to face with them and tell them exactly why they're talking nonsense or that they're complete morons. Maybe talking about different types of shits on Off-topic and taking a small break will help!

That's straight of Viz. Is he a self-proclaimed 'world's top coach' who's actually a caretaker from Tipton? "I've been to China and seen the Frankenstein athlete laboratory' - next week how Frank broke into Nasa and saw space mice bigger than a house, with fangs and that.
