I've just tried 'Britain - Awake!', 'Work Makes Us Free', 'Strength Through Joy' and 'Blood And Soil' - see if any of them make it.

haha. Could of tried Arbeit Mach Frei (sic, apologies, it's from memory), but it'd of been dismissed as too foreign rather than disturbingly inappropriate.

They've made a second article from it showing some of the comments again (nothing like re-stirred hate eh): http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/a ... ge_id=1770

Quite obviously they've picked the complimentry, optimistic, well thought out comments to promote... just kidding, it's almost all hate.

Call be a cynical, unpatriotic cock (I'd probably agree if you did!) but it can't just be me who thinks the idea of a "British motto" is almost vomit inducing?

You cynical, unpatriotic cock!!

It is a bit tacky sounding aye, but I s'pose it's meant as a sorta motivation, sommat to be proud of etc.
Or maybe Gordon just fancied seeing how different people would reply.

Colin's dad: oh, fuck.

How about:

And yet the Mail does daily.

Yeah that's why they're asking us what we think. Prat.

"We welcome comments from all sides" says the Mail spin team.
Of course you do Mavis, now get those pills down you.

Well we already have one:

"Dieu et mon droit"

French for "God and my right"

something from the Enlightenment for me. tbh you can't beat Liberté, égalité, fraternité but i also like the German - Einigkeit, Recht und Freiheit (unity, justice and freedom)

much as i would love the UK to have a motto like the above, the whole idea to me kinda suggests the idea that the uk doesnt really know where it's goin politically, no-one really seems to have the vision of the future that inspired previous mottos
