I want to give the front page links a bit of an over haul. I'm going to get rid of links to established news sites like the beeb, sky news and the newspapers - frankly if you don't know they exist you've probably not found mailwatch at all.

So I'm looking for suggestions and ideas. Serious, political ones and some fun ones too.

the floor is yours...

For blogs, the 3 regulars I read and I think are quite popular are
http://5cc.blogspot.com/ = 5cc (five chinese crackers),
http://www.septicisle.info/ = Obselete, and
http://enemiesofreason.blogspot.com/ = enemies of reason

All of those frequently pick up on Mail/Express stuff and they all have a buttload of links to other blogs which I haven't looked at.

If you want to include links to parody DM,
http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Daily_Mail = a link to uncyclopedia's page,
http://charlieharvey.org.uk/daily_mail.pl = story generator,
http://vodex.net/mailmaker/ = front page maker,
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... daily+mail = definition from the world's best dictionary

If you want to include links to news parody sites,
http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/ = the daily mash
http://www.thespoof.com/ = the spoof

If you want to encourage people to use more news sources, instead of relying on just one (whether it be mail, express, sun, guardian or fishing weekly), I'd use
http://news.google.co.uk/ google news.

I'd also suggest linking to data sources, such as the reports that the mail quotes. Sorta to encourage people to look at the source info for themselves. Course I doubt many mail addicts will be on this site but you never know.
Not got any links for those at the moment but I'll dig some out tomorrow if I remember.

And lastly I'd link to navigor. Just because it'll piss him off and be really funny :D

I suggest Uncyclopedia's entry on Littlejohn as well. It's just amazing.

http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Richard_Littlejohn

Quote:
In 2007, Littlejohn fronted the hard-hitting Channel 4 documentary The War On Britain's Jews? in which he demanded to know why there wasn't a war on Britain's jews. He concluded it was due to "political correctness gone queer".

Unfortunately not. It was linked to on another blog. Does make me wish I came up with the idea, though.

ATTENTION all forumers:

There appear to be a few issues with the forum. Notably:

- Inability to post new topics (hence my piggy-backing on this one)
- Posts being accepted several times
- Moderators being unable to delete other's posts (hence the multi-posts remaining in place)

I'm doing all I can, but the last one is the only one I can hope to do anything about. In the meantime, let me know of anything else.

I posted to the thread 'Site troubles'. The post never appeared, but if I click the 'View Posts Since Last Visit' link, the 'Site troubles thread' appears on the list despite the last published post there being from mid December.
