Invasion of the bobby snatchers: Police helicopter has close encounter with a UFO

Once you have got past the picture (and I urge you to pause, it is a classic, note someone can't even be arsed to take the tag off the Google Map) you reach the comments...

Quote:
I have no doubt that what they saw was for real. I just wish the higher authorities would stop pretending that UFOs do not exist. Out of all the galaxies/universe you can't tell me we are the only living planet in existence. I will leave that thought for the rest of the country!

Government in UFO cover-up? Bet I can guess who's paying...

Quote:
It must have been a traumatic experience for these "hardened professionals". Wait for the compensation claims.

Of course it was a UFO if they didn't know what it was. That's what UFO means Unidentified Flying Object it doesn't mean it's from another planet just that it was unidentified.

Spot on sir, try telling that to the Mail picture department

Quote:
Obviously aliens know that the "Police Service" are tools of a corrupt government and decided to have a bit of fun!

It's about time some of these events made breaking news rather than being hushed up and us having to ask for files to be released under the freedom of information act. Police Officers would not report a UFO unless they were very sure it was one and something from not around here. If it was another aircraft but they couldn't be sure what type of aircraft, they would have said so. They simply wouldn't risk their careers and the risk of humiliation if they weren't 100% sure if was a UFO! The sooner people realise this sort of thing REALLY happens, the better!

Oh dear, too fast to slap a speeding ticket on it?

But wait, hold everything!

Basically proving everything in the Mail to be wrong

That image they've made has to be the most amazing thing ever.

This comment is a corker:

I'm sure it was only the planet Venus or the evening star rather then an Alien Craft!

Well obviously if visitors from another planet did arrive Gordon Brown would give them generous benefits, free housing and free luxury cars. And I know who would be paying for it too!

It's like the cover of a particularly bad sci-fi novel.

However, since the object was flying and has not been identified, it appears to satisfy all the relevant criteria to be referred to as a UFO.

True. The image recalls the 1970s for me. They should have stuck Harold Wilson and Edward Heath in the helicopter.
