Binge-drinking, underage sex, drugs and even thoughts of suicide: Inside the secret life of teenage girls

Lovely article about seven bland, clearly middle class, mostly teenage darlings. Gawd I feel sorry for them!

And this obsession with houses is bordering on the loony :

Quote:
Chloe Warner, 14, from Northampton, is in Year 9 at a local state school. She lives in a four-bedroom detached house with her parents, Lisa, 38, and Glenn, 40, who run their own businesses. She has two older sisters, Naomi, 18, and Beth, 16, and a younger brother, Harry, 12. She says:

Quote:
Caitlin Alan, 13, is in Year 9 at an all-girls state school in Sussex. She lives in a village near Horsham in a three-bedroom semi-detached house, with her mum Elaine, 41, who runs a B&B, her dad, Albert, a manager for an American oil and gas company, and her brothers Craig, 11, and Daniel, 15.

Quote:
Nicole Skelton, 14, is in Year 9 at an all-girls state school, and lives in a four-bedroom detached home in Surrey with her mum, Tina, 47, who works part-time in an auction house, her dad Chris, 46, a director of an estate agency, and her sister Emma, 17. She says:

Every single one - there are 7 entries, each telling us what type and size of house they live in. Fucking hell

If only they told us where the valuables are kept and what time they're out.

Jesus christ where did they get these kids? They are just so ... maily.

The one who said she doesn't use facebook because 'it's confusing' just baffled me, these people can't be real.

Although I liked this comment

Funny that none of these girls admit to doing anything 'bad' but have plenty of friends who do so. Also, a bit odd that they are all white and have large houses. Hmm.

It's also quite telling that the most northern of them is only from Northampton.

What a nice, misleading headline. And article in general.

It appears that someone can't read, though:

What a suprise all these girls think about is sex, sex, and when this weeks issue of OK! magazine will come out.

Perhaps Brad is confusing what they think about with what he thinks about?

I think that's likely to be the case.

The plight of the downsizers: Record number of middle classes desperate to sell homes

Quote:
Record numbers of middle-class homeowners are trying desperately to sell and move to smaller properties.

As a 'white-collar recession' begins to bite deeply, new figures show a sharp jump in families looking for a quick sale on houses worth £500,000 or more.

Quote:
Many have been forced to move their children to state education, and supermarkets such as Waitrose and Marks & Spencer have brought in budget ranges.

(Basically: house prices are falling and more people are out of work)

Oh the sheer awfulness of it all, and to think some people in this country live in poverty, those evil JSA Clamiant scum who probably shop at Aldi or something.

Do they not realise that this kind of story espically as it graces the front page this morning makes them look so out of touch.

Our paper speaks for the aspiration middle classes, Does it? Does it really? Boohoo you have to downsize to a 300k house, a house is a home not a fucking price tag.

Not to mention undermining their historical line that the non-working population live the life of millionaires. Or do the middle classes get different benefits to teenage single mums?

I would imagine "working class scum" losing their jobs and their homes is a price worth paying and all that.

Different matter now.

Angela for one has the measure of the Mail:

Quote:
Mis leading and alarming headline since none of the girls featured actually have any of these thoughts....
Nothing new here - sensible parents raise sensible children.
