So basically the story is "prominent former politician has people to stop others shooting him"

Is this really news, though? I mean, really? When was the last time you saw Mrs Thatcher walking down a road chatting to "ordinary" people without protection.

Tony Blair would never get a fair hearing judging by most the comments on here. It is indeed worrying that you have the vote as well.

Charlie from London is another wanker who needs reporting:

Better avoid going to work via Victoria on Friday. Teflon Tony will never be convicted for his crimes so let someone shoot him, please. Watching him smile makes me feel sick to my stomach.

Nice.

I've reported him already.

Shame. I just pissed in Neil's tea. D'ya think he'll notice? Actually, probably not. He's already bitter enough as it is.

'He can't buy forgiveness': Fury as Blair pledges to donate book proceeds to British troops

Submitted a comment saying that only the Mail would object to money being given to injured soldiers. Chances of publishing in relation to zero not high...

I'd love to know how many of the commenters getting so indignant on behalf of Our Wounded Heroes have actually donated a penny themselves.

They don't have to, remember. They've 'paid into the system all their lives'

They probably keep their poppies to use again next year (I know someone who actually did that...)

Unsurprisingly, the comments saying "Well done Tony Blair" are the worst rated. Also:

Quote:
'Furious' are we? The Daily Mail kindly tells us how we feel isn't that nice?

- Sanna, England, UK, 16/8/2010 16:43

and

Quote:
Let's face it, if Tony Blair fed a crowd 5000 with 2 loaves and 5 fishes the DM would accuse him trying to ruin the baking and fishing industries.

But we all know his real crime, keeping the Tories out of office for 13 years, and helping make sure they couldn't even win a majority after that!

Well Done Tony!

- Robert, Manchester, 16/8/2010 16:40

Just brilliant.

Quote:
is he trying to make sure some idiots buy it just because he says its for the Royal British Legion,i would rather give my money straight to them than make his book of lies sell.

- des, staffs, 16/8/2010 16:3

What's the betting he doesn't give any money to the Royal British Legion, via straight donation or otherwise?

My grandparents do that, and they actually recieved a fair bit of help from the 'Legion after the war, and still get the benefit of their shop / centre thing in a nearby town to go to for lunch. Same poppy for 20 years.

The Mail and ITN News wouldn't be happy until Blair head was on a pike.

Oh and in Mail Land only a Tory PM can go to war not a Labour PM or that's what I can gather from reading the Mail for the last 7 years.

The Tories backed Blair (on going to war) at the time, as I recall. But a lot of people choose not to.
