I love the way that point 8 argues that "The IPCC theory is driven by just 60 scientists and favourable reviewers not the 4,000 usually cited." and is a reason to discount it....yet other points give suggestions from only one person, but yet we should accept it

And one of their reasons:
Quote:
79) Since the cause of global warming is mostly natural, then there is in actual fact very little we can do about it. (We are still not able to control the sun).

"It's natural because I said so"

In fact, most of their "reasons" aren't reasons at all, just irrelevant crap.

Oh yes we can control the sun ! I saw a documentary about it. The Scarecrow, her out of Troy, a Bond Girl, Johnny Storm and that guy who always plays Arab terrorists flew a nuke into it while Harry Starks tried to stop them. Oh wait, that was a film...

Completely relevant points here:
Quote:
29) The biggest climate change ever experienced on earth took place around 700 million years ago

Quote:
55) The argument that climate change is a of result of global warming caused by human activity is the argument of flat Earthers

Loads of them are about how much it's costing people, still more are about, as was said above, individuals who don't believe it.
It reads as though it was written by a child:
Quote:
35) It is a myth that computer models verify that CO2 increases will cause significant global warming because computer models can be made to “verify” anything

I don't know if it has already been mentioned, but there is a rebuttal at the New Scientist

The comments on the NS article are filled with 'NO YOU'RE WRONG!' stuff as well.

I've yet to be convinced as to WHY global warming is a lie. As far as I can tell, I see far more vested interests in keeping the status quo than changing it - I don't quite buy that scientists are ALL in the pockets of governments, so they can raise these 'green taxes' we keep being frightened with without seeing them in quite such a dastardly form as previously told.

JUST ONE CUP OF COFFEE CAN HARM YOUR HEART

Quote:
In 2007 doctors issued a warning after a 17-year-old girl was rushed to hospital with a coffee overdose.

Jasmine Willis, of County Durham, suffered a racing heart, fever and hyperventilation after downing seven double espressos while working at her family’s sandwich shop.

then there is the bit at the bottom negating the whole thing:

Quote:
Dr Euan Paul, executive director of the British Coffee Association, said: “Caffeine can affect individuals very differently. The overwhelming evidence shows that when consumed in moderation, coffee is safe.”

So one cup of coffee can damage your heart, provided you have one cup of coffee perhaps six or seven times in quick succession.

If you fall off a multi-storey car park the first 100 feet are harmless, it's just the last 6 inches that are dangerous...

I read this in the Metro this morning, where the focus in the headline was very definitely on espresso. Only at the very end did they note that a 'regular' cup of filter coffee contains more caffeine than an espresso, as you might expect. I guess as Metro is distributed in cities they're trying to go for the 'urban professional espresso-drinking twunt' demographic.

I don't know why people bother to buy those coffees from Starbucks, etc and carry them to the office as every office has coffee! Its not exactly posing either...ooh, get me with my coffee!

I wouldn't buy Starbucks, but I have been known to bring in a coffee from the stall in our local station (which does a mean cappucino) just because it's way better than the muck we get in the office.

cappuccino = over-priced adult milkshake.

Although "over-priced adult milkshake" sounds suspiciously like a euphemism.

CHOCOLATE EVERY DAY 'HELPS PREVENT STROKES'

bottom bit:

Quote:
Sarah Sahib from McMaster University said: “More research is needed to determine whether chocolate truly lowers stroke risk or whether healthier people are simply more likely to eat chocolate than others.”
