Boris Johnson given £14k freebie trip to Saudi Arabia by country’s government two weeks before Jamal Khashoggi murder

Stick the boot into Johnson by all means but I doubt he knew this murder was going to take place so I'm not sure what the relevance is to the Khashoggi murder. And Johnson trousering easy money and freebies isn't a revelation either. He must be whoring himself all over the shop now he's a backbencher with a vulnerable seat.

Like nobody knew the Saudis are a bunch of bastards until they killed Khashoggi? And that they give away £14k freebies out of the goodness of their hearts?
If one leans exceptionally lightly on the words involved, prior to that one could feign plausible deniability. ADP Johnson could certainly manage that. He's also sufficiently cynical to know in the circles he moves in, "fuck em, only brown people" would be acceptable as a response. Littlejohn's notorious column on the Rwandan genocide didn't occur in a vacuum

A source close to Mr Johnson said that he 'visited Saudi Arabia to discuss his long-standing campaign of improving education for women and girls.
No, me neither. Malc? You'll know.

Why would they give him a £14k freeby? To a Foreign Sec yes, but what can a mere MP give them in return?
That's half the average national wage to most of us. It would barely touch a decent pair of cufflinks in other circles.

This is the kind of sloppy arrogance and complacency that did for Neil Hamilton but such largesse will nowadays barely meet a shrug of the shoulders. Much less, a near-terminal fall from grace.
