A new non-specific topic thread about the bunch of cunts we love to hate, those beyond the pale Tory shits that currently make up most of our unelected government.

As they meet in Manchester to serve up a menu of tax bribes and union-bashing, and as news comes from Manchester that the conference will open with "a tribute to Baroness Thatcher" (for fuck's sake), it seems to me a parallel thread to "Labour, generally" might be useful as we enter what is now effectively a 20 month election campaign.

So here it is, chums and comrades. Feel free to stretch your legs.

It really fucks me off that they've come to the north to have their little Thatcher wankfest. Those cunts are an endangered species around here and with fucking good reason. Have to say though it would be a terrible shame if any Tory delegates ended up in the wrong sort of pubs around town and got a few slaps for their trouble.

edit: looks like they've had a warm welcome.

I can't fathom what the Tories are up to strategically. Cameron's living costs retort to Miliband's energy freeze is a stale old Thatcherite favourite about marriage tax allowances.

Does this have any resonance to voters he has to reach out to or is this to stop traditional Tory supporters defecting?

I hope its the latter.

Is he just rallying the troops to stop them going to Ukip?

Nice thread on the Mumsnet titled 'Am I Being Unreasonable? ... To think that a marriage tax break is stupid and David Cameron is a smug twat'

http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_ ... -smug-twat

The consensus seems to be that valuing marriage at £2.85 per week is a bit shit really.

Is the consensus also that David Cameron is indeed a twat, smug or otherwise?

It looks like the Tory spin doctors have been busy this evening trying to keep the Philip Hammond story off of Monday's front pages. Only the Independent has got the story on it's front page many of the other papers have gone with the plans to make people work for their benefits. The papers our giving George Osborne all the credit for launching the initiative which is bound to seriously piss off IDS.
