Question...like Toby Young and the OFS is....

How the hell did anyone think he was the right man for the job in the first place?
This is the first I've heard of him and he's set a new speed record for me venomously despising someone. He trots out the usual out of touch upper-middle class scorn for anything remotely radical but as he's in relative obscurity, it seems to me like he actually believes his own hot air rather than using the standard checklist of commercialised "common sense" outrage of contemporary conservative commentariat.

Vintage era pseudo-intellectual racism.

It's always curious how this type can never, ever find any negative traits associated with their own ethnicity and phenotype.

I once heard some mad old Tory challenge Oscar Wilde’s assertion that fox hunters were the unspeakable chasing the un-eatable; ‘Roast fox with cranberry sauce is most enjoyable.’ I’m certain it was that twatloon Scruton. Or a drunken Peter Cook character.

Well, I'm sure one or two of those "wretched, spoiled brats are trying to pull it all down" were pigmented somewhere between pink and chalk.

The latest Kamikaze ECG strategy is to collect 10,000 member signatures to change the rules so May can be challenged in a No confidence vote before November. May could well win even if they achieve this. The DUP don’t want the SNP handing Corbyn the keys and some opposition MPs won’t risk PM Johnson. May goes when this farce is concluded anyway.

Surely asking for a second vote of no confidence in the party leader after they lost the first is a betrayal to all of those Tory MPs who voted to back May last December?

Those looking for a second vote should be told "You lost! Get over it!"

Oh yes. You never need to scratch too deeply to find out.

Observations on philosophy, and philosophers:
* Comtemplation as a means to an end is admirable and superior to rushing in without a plan.
* Having a set of underlying principles is good protection against opportunist flip-flopping and mission creep.
* Thinking about stuff as an end in itself can lead to detachment, ivory tower thinking and arrogance.
* A very large proportion of media philosophers are contrarian twats - or worse.
* Rarely as clever as they like to think they are.
* Prone to sophistry when called out on their statements.

Laughing like a drain at all these recent catastrofuck polls for the Tories. Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of cunts, quite frankly.

11% of the population supporting a party with an openly racist leader who appoints violent criminals to positions of authority isn't cause for rejoicing.
