As a mother, I'm in favour of pulling out.

A way back for Johnson?

It's a great pity if the hate campaign against Leadsom has forced her to quit the Tory leadership race

If you're a mother, maybe pulling out wasn't successful?

I fear if May becomes PM unopposed, then she'll call a snap election if at all possible, to avoid accusations of being imposed. And because Labour is in a terrible state right now.

I think a 2 month scrap with Gove would be preferable?

Aaaand!

She's gone. Because otherwise the long campaign would be damaging to the economy...

What now?

Don't think that can be right. The 1922 committee didn't have to put up somebody else when Duncan Smith got binned. They just got Howard in right away.

Now the hard right descend into anarchy (literally in real time - conspiraceeeeeeeeee!), and Corbyn talks to Sturgeon, making up for the lost time of Milibland.

EDIT: it was Goldman Sachs wot won it, LOL

Yup, the tories will just get on with it, not referring it to their NEC for a nice split vote.

Leadsom says she has the support of less than 25% of the parliamentary party.

That is not enough to run a strong, stable government, she says.
Hint hint, Jeremy.

Read the comments below it seems Clause 4 may allow the Tories to coronate May.

And I would win £70.... I've said all along she would get to be PM, I'm getting as good as Stephen Bush.

I haven't had time to read it yet, but from accounts I've read May's speech this morning was, in some ways, not as bad as it could have been.

Grudgingly, she was pretty good. A strong, incoming CEO, if you will. Whether she follows through on that is of course an entirely different matter.
