I hope not. Or rather I hope that the past of his career that might be most damaged by this isn't.

His kids books are pretty good. It's 25 years since I read any Dahl, but they have the same sort of feel of naughty kids coming to sticky ends and the like. My daughter enjoys them.

So if this puts the kybosh on that and leads to piss poor ITV 'comedy' then it'll be a shame.

In those situations, they tend to go whichever way the wind ends up blowing in the comments. It's quite amusing sometimes when they retrospectively re-frame the story, rendering most of the comments below it meaningless or unintentionally hilarious
