I thought that cliche had been coined by Keynes or FDR but I was out by 350 years. Even Shakespeare didn't use it as it was already out there. It was one of Paddy Ashdown's favourites IIRC

He won't have all that much money for nurses with McDonnell's fairly tight fiscal rule. The thing they need to go for, and where McDonnell has room, is investment. There's infrastructure proposals all over the place. Pull these together properly and there's the basis for a campaign in every area, and provides a pro-business angle which they need.
