Something I forgot to mention

Jon Lansmann millionaire and owner of Momentum, decided to shut down the youth wing of Momentum, conveniently just after most of them had already voted form him in the NEC elections

You know I'm pretty sure this is similar to what Maggie did to the GLC back in 86

Momentum are calling for the Lewisham Mayor position to be abolished, after Lewisham Labour members voted to select Damian Egan over their candidate Paul Bell in last year’s selection.

The policy would remove the ability of Labour members to choose the Party’s candidate for leader of their local authority, effectively the role of the Mayor in Lewisham.

The proposal’s inclusion in Lewisham Momentum’s draft manifesto for May’s local elections will surprise those who see Momentum as standing for greater democracy in the Party. The organisation has previously supported calls for local Labour party members to elect their local authority leaders, rather than councillors.

The story may well be true, but the story itself contains zero quotes or evidence. The writer has said Momentum are going to do something, and that's it.

Basically, the same kind of lazy, tabloid journalism this forum pulls apart for fun if it appears in the Mail. Do better.

Momentum chief Jon Lansman: Labour MPs who listen to their members will not be deselected

The veteran left-winger, who was elected to Labour's ruling national executive committee last week, insisted the pro-Jeremy Corbyn group would not "nationally" campaign to unseat any Labour MP.

But he insisted that they cannot expect to be able to automatically stand as candidates at the next election if they fall short of the standards expected of them.

"We are not going to campaign to deselect any individual MP.

"We have made it clear that we are not going to campaign to deselect anyone, at all, anywhere."

But he stressed that Labour did operate a "trigger ballot" system which allowed local party members to deselect a sitting MP if they wish.

Mr Lansman said: "No Labour MP that works hard and campaigns and listens to their members has anything to fear from the selection process.

"I would hope that at least all our MPs hope to perform well and if they don’t aim to perform well it wouldn’t be surprising if local members took some action. But that’s up to local members." https://www.politicshome.com/news/uk/po ... who-listen

So which pro Brexit MPs who don't listen to the members shall we start with Jon; Kate Hoey, John McDonnell, Frank Field, Jeremy Corbyn?

Sounds like the sensible moderate party members have been given the perfect mechanisms with which to sieze control of the party. You can oust the cabinet, install an electable leader as PM and surge to a 100 seat landslide with a remain stance.

Of course if you don't attempt at least part 1 of that plan I'll assume the right of the party is just full of hot air and empty heads as usual.

They'll go for the soft left MPs, like Stella Creasy.
