That's the issue with some MPs. Surrounded by people telling them what they want to hear, because the hangers-on (researchers etc) depend on the MP being happy with them, and kept in the limelight.
I don't know if that applies to him because he seems to converted fairly suddenly and late in life. It's very striking he didn't know who Gilad Atzmon was. That's not somebody who's been immersed all that long in Corbynism. Even the SWP (or at least their least bad people) clocked Atzmon as an anti-Semite to be avoided a decade ago.
