I do enjoy the 'hit with a haddock' thread, but for 2018 I'd like to propose a topic to celebrate Labour MPs who are quietly doing good work.
First nomination: Karen Buck - Westminster North. Every election she's a top Tory target, with personal friends of Cameron selected for a plum central London constituency. Every election she survives, in a large part due to being an excellent constituency MP.
She's twice proposed legislation to ensure that private landlords supply habitable homes, and twice the Tories have filibustered it out. She's got a fresh Private Member's Bill coming this Friday and this time it looks like the government will back it.
Third time lucky? Who knows. But a bouquet for sheer effort.
