I'm reminded of the SNP by Starmer's approach. I'm not their biggest fans but they take care of business when they have to. If it were them in this situation with Salmond, who was way more successful for them than Jez, this is what they'd have done.

Good socialists seem to appear in lots of photos slapping each other on the back, or at least they did until Covid.

I don't want them all to go, Labour needs voters like them, with the Greens hovering. But they do seem to be excluding themselves at a rate of knots.
