Former presidents act presidentially:

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/12/03/poli ... index.html
As President Donald Trump ignores America's slide into a tragic winter and obsesses over his false claims of a stolen election, three of his predecessors are volunteering to bare their arms on camera to build confidence in the vaccines that could finally end the pandemic.
...
The former presidents are stepping up as America plunges into its toughest battle against Covid-19 before the new vaccines, expected to soon be approved by US regulators, bring deliverance. But there are few signs that the current President is ready to call on the nation to muster for one last fight against the worsening pandemic before the immunizations become available to most Americans.

Rudy’s got the ‘rona. Something tells me he won’t be getting the same super-expensive experimental treatment Trump got either.

It’d be quite something if the epilogue to Trump’s presidency is the death of his own lawyer from the disease he did next to nothing about.

As President Donald Trump's days in the White House wane, his administration is racing through a string of federal executions.

Five executions are scheduled before President-elect Joe Biden's 20 January inauguration - breaking with an 130-year-old precedent of pausing executions amid a presidential transition.

I'm struggling to see his motivation for this. Pandering to his base in preparation for 2024? Or he's just a psychotic sadist venting his anger? Interesting to look at how many of these executions are white people.

The last block of executions were white people. This block - now he's not doing it in the midst of the fallout of George Floyd and ham-fistedly making a point (christ knows what it was) - are mainly African-American.

As to why? It's what big tough men do. They kill "bad guys" so that they scare other people into not being "bad guys" and scare anyone into not standing up to them. Doesn't matter if the bad guys are mentally impaired, were abused, committed crimes when young and naive. The fact that this isn't usually done by an outgoing president probably just made him all the more likely to do it.
