But the trashy press will crucify him...

... especially in the light of his response to Ian Paisley Jr.

You can almost feel the temples throbbing, can't you?

Anyway, up the wooden hill now: work in the morning.

Same here. The GE vote isn't going to be until at least midnight at this rate. Will see what chaos awaits us in the morning.

Sweet dreams to one and all.

I for one would have had absolutely no problem whatsoever if Bercow had decided to go full on 'Golden Cleric Award' with his speech.

Did anyone else get the impression that Bercow was a bit demob happy last night?
... it doesn't look like the leader of the house is about to uncoil...
I couldn't care less whether you like it or not.
I require no response from you, young man! Get out, you will not be missed.

He's not exactly getting a nice goodbye from the Mail, to nobodies surprise. They're just proving his point, really, but they don't have the self control to do anything other than that.

The thought that eminently capable Harriet Harman might get the gig fills my heart with joy. On the face of it, she would be a fine choice. It would also make the mailites' heads explode.

That'll be Littlejohn sorted through to Easter:

If Harriet Harperson was in Victoria Wood's Dinnerladies - Littlejohn Imagines.

Mrs Harperson's Boys - a hilarious comedy re-imagined.

I'm not so sure Harriet Harman or any other Labour MP would be a good idea if there's another hung Parliament or a wafer-thin majority.
