If, as we were told, the last time East Coast was under public ownership it turned a profit, how come business geniuses like the Grinning Beard and chums can't make a single bean, even with subsidy from our pockets?

TBH after the way Southern and GWR have managed to sully the names of their once-great forebears I'm extremely trepidatious about this. The LNER deserves a better legacy than whatever this shite turns into.
