The Daily Mail (along with the Express, Sun, Telegraph etc) are bastions of EE.

Bring me egregious examples. But first read this lovely piece by Otto English:

If the Scots do call time on the British state what effect will this have on the English psyche's absurd sense of self importance and deluded grandeur about the UK's relative power? Sadly little I fear.

With the atmosphere generally poisoned since the last referendum, it'll have some effect on the windows and letterboxes of Scots living in England, I fear. Indeed, some English would be so dense as to voiciferously boycott McDonald's.

To cite Kohlberg's Stages of Moral Development, Fargle operates entirely at level 1,

Level 1 (Pre-Conventional)
1. Obedience and punishment orientation
(Fear of punishment)
2. Self-interest orientation
( What's in it for me?)

Discourse of fear (1.1) and immediate personal advantage (1.2)

This is the lowest level of moral development.
