There was something a while ago on the Telegraph site, about why lefties believe things that aren't true. Apparently they only talk to people like them or something.

I bet the Barclay brothers are always chatting to lefties on their tinpot island.

wait, but if lefties only speak to other lefties, then people on the right must only speak with others on the right, cause they can't be speaking to lefties, cause they only speak other other lefties, so...ARGH!

Brilliantly put.

I'm an old Oxbridge lefty which seems to attract particular ire. There were only lefties there. Except the Cabinet and everyone who writes for the Times, The Telegraph, or runs an investment bank or the Free Schools Network.

From the DM yesterday

They have identified a so-called ‘Liberal Gene’ that makes people more likely to seek out less conventional  political views.
The gene, a neurotransmitter in the brain called DRD4, could even be stimulated by the novelty value of radical :? opinions, claim the U.S. researchers.

From 2007 http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/ ... 7256.story

Previous psychological studies have found that conservatives tend to be more structured and persistent in their judgments whereas liberals are more open to new experiences

Here is the pair to that diagram

I wouldn't be surprised in that idea of being stimulated by radical opinions.

It implied to me that those with so called liberal views are doing it just to be different or controversial akin to a stroppy teenager.
I don't think of the liberal or left wing brain as being radical, just normal.

I'm sure there was a variation on that type of diagram titled 'Brain of a Sun/Mail reader' knocking about on the net somewhere, can't find it though.
