How is this 'sabtoteur' stuff playing out in a Europe that have suffered real dictatorship? Brussels is pretty Anglophile and know what they are dealing with; the Minister for Silly Walks and the Very Model of a Modern Major-General.

So what kind of effect would Jean Claude Juncker have been trying to affect on the election?

If he thinks he's going to make people decide to vote Labour, he wants his bumps feeling.

The only effect anybody is trying to exploit here is May trying to drive Kipper voters into the arms of the Tories.
