'People who claim Muslims won't integrate are furious they might enjoy Christmas': Backlash at ‘racist idiots’ who blasted Tesco for including Islamic family in their festive advert

I think one of the most interesting things about the advert is not that Muslims are celebrating Christmas - that¿s fine. It¿s that there are no overtly Christian images eg churches, vicars, nativity scenes etc. Very surprising and a little disturbing for what is at heart a Christian celebration.

The funny thing is, there are two types of people who are against Muslims celebrating Christmas:
- Far-right extremists who are against Muslims 'appropriating' their customs
- Muslim extremists who are against other Muslims 'diluting' their puritanical customs

Two sides of the same intolerant coin.

I'm reminded of that time when the Nation of Islam and the American Nazi Party tried to coordinate their policies.

Quick update -

The problem here is that the damage is already done.
The usual types will be chattering about this down the pub, at the hairdressers and on the clapham omnibus.

My mother - god bless her - is a lovely lady and clever in some ways, but incredibly simple when it comes to spun news.
Much as I try to point out that "They had to pay damages to that professor", or "The police found it wasn't te people the mail holed it was", she persists with her view "They wouldn't be allowed to print it if it wasn't true".

This is somebody well above 50% on the intelligence distribution.
But somebody who holds the common (among a certain age) view that the police will actually take action against journalists who peddle falsehoods.
This despite the daily evidence that the press distort and manufacture news, and lie and deflect when called out.

Man, 21, accused of stabbing woman, 22, and her mother, 49, to death is her SHARIA LAW HUSBAND as he appears in court on murder charges after victims were heard 'screaming like animals'
What possible relevance is that?
