Near miss! Motorised paraglider narrow avoids crashing into packed EasyJet passenger plane by only 150ft... and air traffic control failed to spot it

An investigation has been launched to crack down on the motorised parachutes and their pilots, which cannot be detected by radar systems because they travel too slowly.

Fear not. Guess who will save us from the menace of paragliders?
Today the CAA is just a fee collecting agency and pretty inefficient at regulation. You'll see a lot more of this in the years to come. All part of 'austerity' like the EA and the floods. Just like when Thatcher was in power everything got run down and then disasters happened. Vote UKIP.

There are an awful lot of Mailites living in some sort of alternative reality under which everything they perceive to be wrong with the world will be remedied with one wave of NargleFargle's wand. It would almost be worth letting UKIP into power for the sheer fun of watching the process of baffled disillusionment that would inevitably follow.

British passenger sent text to her mother from diverted plane saying she feared for her life after travellers were told to put on life jackets and prepare for emergency water landing in latest Malaysian Airline flight terror

Conflating two stories in the Mail is a bad idea.

Am I missing something here but why has it took two weeks for this information to come to light. Surely any information should be collated as soon as possible.

'He warned us there could be an explosion': Weeping pilot tells terrified passengers to brace for a crash landing at sea after plane suffers an engine failure

Terrified passengers on a flight across Europe feared they were moments away from death after one of the plane's engine's failed in mid-air.
After an emergency was declared by the flight crew, the plane's 'weeping' pilot warned holidaymakers that they had six minutes before they would crash, a passenger says.
All based on one passenger's word.

Terror at 35,000ft as Jet2 airliner's engine fails over the Atlantic on flight to Tenerife

To be fair to the transport editor, the article was reasonable with no mention of terror or panic. He was shafted by a sub editor.

Terrifying moment easyJet plane is forced to abort landing at the last second after rear wheels touch down briefly on runway in strong winds

The spokeswoman for the Luton-based airline said she was unaware of the flight's origin and the number of passengers and crew on board because go arounds are a routine procedure and are not required to be recorded.
