I can't find a thread on this subject so here goes

More than 4,000 officers disciplined for criminal behaviour in five years... including an inspector sacked for SHOPLIFTING

136,000 police officers, 327 found guilty of misconduct in the last year. I make that 0.24% of the force found guilty of misconduct of some kind, the article doesn't give a breakdown of that number. What is the proportion of hacks who are guilty of misconduct? Is the journalistic profession as keen to weed out the bad 'uns?

Judging that the officers were caught, disciplined and sacked/charged/convicted, I'm not so sure how much 'shame' is necessary. Sounds like they're pretty good at keeping their house in order and saying so publicly. If it had been '4000 officers broke the law and it was hushed up', the Mail might have a point.

This story reminded me of that old favourite:

The Mail have got the memo from The Sun:

'No wonder you can never get a cop when you want one!' Police attract criticism* when they join in with carnival zumba class
