Child safety campaigners condemn Tesco for not blocking porn websites on their mobile phone network - the only major supplier not to do so

A spokesperson for Tesco Mobile told MailOnline that the reason the filters had not been installed was because some of their old systems needed upgrading, but that the firm was making these changes as a matter of 'absolute priority'.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport told The Times: 'We understand this is a technical issue and Tesco has assured us that it is working hard to rectify this position.'
