Years ago, I was working on the newsdesk at London’s Evening Standard, early one morning, when a big story broke in Winchester.

I can’t remember exactly what. Train crash or something. I asked a colleague, Reg Smith, to get me the local freelance news agency, called Bishop of Winchester.
Was Littlejohn a news editor? Or is this a stolen anecdote that he cunningly conceals with a made up colleague called err Reg Smith?

New media are evil, blah blah. I was a journalist back in the day, blah blah.

Cops and robbers! Today the cops are the goodies, particularly when their opponents, both on the street and in court, aren't white. Beggars! They've all got iPhones really. Climate change! Try picking up some litter! Coffee! Millennials drink that! It's crap!

It's all the caahncil's fault, blah blah. They're all lefties, obsessed with monetizing everything.

Trust me, Richard. It's not the left that put a price tag on everything.

Takes a pop at Johnson for his holidays, before turning it into an attack on Tony Blair. Then some sitcom references, some of them less than 20 years old. And something about the Caahncil and bins.
