I think he'd have kept the gig if he could. More likely a gentle push out the door. Let's be honest, Dacre's troops were/are fucking appalling and are only there because they toe the party line. Their politics aside, the majority of them are just awful writers and do not have the talent to be highly paid columnists in a national newspaper.

I should think Mail Towers is reminiscent of Radio 1 when Matthew Bannister pitched up in 1993 and turned the place upside down.
