Does anybody under the age of 40 know who Max Headroom actually is?

I think it is interesting that he mentions putting an end to the daily Downing Street briefings. I wonder if they his one of his own ideas of an idea being pushed by the papers editor. Boris Johnson clearly doesn't like them so I wouldn't be surprised to see them scaled back when Johnson returns to work 'full-time'. He will probably argue they are not needed if parliament is sitting everyday. If briefings are done in the commons the minister can rely on a number of easy questions from obedient backbencers.

The tragedy is that he thinks that he is being edgy by referencing Max Headroom.

In fact, he probably is; his core audience was jacking off to Angela Rippon's legs at the time.

Littlejohn imagines, again. This time it's the party that will happen when lockdown is ended. But boo, hiss! Nasty public health officials (whose fault this all is) will want to shut it down, the PC police will be out arresting white English people (and people in Northern Ireland with perfectly sound traditional conservative views) for flying flags, while horrid dwarf-like Celts will fly their flags with impunity and (in a particularly sneaky dog whistle), fast food places and restaurants stereotypically associated with BAME people will be packed to the rafters with people who Just Don't Get Our Rules. Meanwhile it's all a waste of money because who really cares if a few old biddies and spades died.

Wokes who can’t knock it back are poofs
Public health officials warned that anyone who drinks more than three halves of ginger beer shandy a week is a raging alcoholic.
The article is pinned on a sentence that isn’t vaguely true. They should hand out medals to people like Andy who read the whole article
ministers are determined to throw the greatest party since the end of World War II. It's being called CO-VE Day

I still don't understand how a person with so little imagination can do so much imagining. :?
He's someone who desperately needs to read another book. Even Wilbur Smith might do for him.

Which makes me observe, why are we celebrating VE day? a bloody conflict that ended 75 years ago, and the long term outcomes "we" threw away in 2016. I can see it just turning into a Brexit piss-up

you've answered your own question there.

From Dickie's perspective, the problem with street celebrations today is you can still mingle with the crowd, but the chances of getting an impromptu snog and a sly grope have diminished considerably.

Snowflake imagines: An ageing, past his sell by date relic from a previous generation, appearing on stage at some seedy backstreet club with peeling paint and wallpaper he bought a few years back, churning out the same repetitive humour every night to an appreciative and loyal half empty audience.
