Apart from the fact that the photo accompanying the story isn't that of George Carey by the look of things, it should be pointed out that Trump's table would probably have been the first one Jesus overturned when he went crazy apeshit bonkers in the Temple.

He added: ‘His wealth is beyond the imagination of all of us. His hedonist lifestyle, his hypocrisy, the things that make him such a flawed character may also be the very thing that people today find deeply seductive.’

Trump is a proto-fascist and those who try to appease him should be aware of how history will paint them.

What about it being easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God?

I do remember something from scripture lessons at junior school 50 odd years ago...

Mr Carey appears to be confusing his parables.

The Good Samaritan was:
* An example of neighborly behavior form an unexpected alien source.
* Displayed kindness to an victim of violence.
* Ensured the poor man received healthcare.
* Is a contrast with the "righteous" people who passed by thinking "That snowflake's not my problem".

Trump:
* Agitates against "aliens" and associates with those who openly advocate against them.
* Has a chance to do something for victims, prefers to taunt them on twitter.
* Isn't keen on healthcare for the poor.
* Is precisely like those righteous people who passed by.

To paraphrase Roald Dahl, you can't help looking at George Carey and think, if that guy's one of the lead salesmen, there's something decidedly wrong about the whole business.

Looks like the sainted George is up to his neck in it over an abuse cover up. Expect a Dacre rebuttal blaming the left once again.

Now remind yourselves that the Government of England and Wales want Carey's team to play a greater role in the provision and running of schools.

If there is an issue, will your child get a fair hearing?

Not a good week for Dacre or Mr Daily Mail at prayer. Everything the Tories touch is turning to shit.
