Is this a previously unheard euphemism for female solitary self-gratification?
Probably. It would be an odd place to keep pigs.

Funnily enough, the Mail didn't include this reply someone tweeted to Lauren L's question:
a non-famous person on Twitter wrote:Ask Charlie Brooker about Sam Brick! He and I were at college with her. She was in the year above us and as annoying then.
EDIT: see also @La_Brick

Or not.
The Daily Mail is a large-scale professional troll, and this article is troll-bait of the highest order—a master stroke of carefully orchestrated misogyny. It basically screams, "HERE, TROLLS! DON'T YOU HATE THIS AWFUL BITCH? LOOK, SHE THINKS SHE'S BETTER THAN YOU BUT SHE ISN'T EVEN PRETTY!" It begs women to go all mean-girl on her (every woman I spoke to succumbed to the temptation immediately), gives men a pass to comment on the relative value and fuckability of her body, and encourages both sexes to eviscerate, body-shame, and judge Brick with impunity because her ideas are so repellant. Like if she were prettier she would have earned the right to say such ridiculous shit.

… For the Daily Mail to put such an obviously average woman (whose self-regard transcends confidence and becomes something close to paranoid delusion) on display like this, with crazy ideas like this, on a platform like this, feels uncomfortably close to bullying. And it makes Brick pitiable.

The trolling is working. People are going fucking nuts. The Telegraph has fustily declared the backlash to be "worse" than the original article—and even though that's obviously silly (the article is bullshit and deserves to be called out as such), I'm sure as hell not interested in piling on at this point. It feels too much like a set-up. By giving Samantha Brick miles of rope and an extremely public tree, the Daily Mail is trying to trollify us all. It's a little peek behind the curtain at how the media deliberately pits women against women for fun and profit. Fuck that. Ladies, let's stop biting.

Great article. It's amazing how they've duped so many people with this trolling.

The entire Femail section rarely has any news value - it's columnists like Jan Moir, Liz Jones and now Samatha Brick having offensive and exaggerated opinions for money. Not to mention the celebrity section which can be summed as 'person eats ice cream', 'person wears bikini', 'person has lost weight'. It's easy copy to fill their site because they know they will attract an audience. Like bears to honey.

I think whoever said this was an extended application for Liz Jones' job was spot on. After all, Liz is nearly pension age by anyone's calculations (except her own). SB must want the job very very badly if she's willing to be known forever more as 'that woman who thinks she's so beautiful, hahaha' and to be jeered at for it. The Mail could have picked a more convincing photo than the one with the rough tough chasseur hubby if they wanted anyone at all to do anything other than fall about in hysteria. One with a woman with decent legs, nice shoes and a dress that is her size and not one that's too small for her. What is this thing about sprayed-on clothes? Most female newsreaders and weather forecasters constantly appear in clothes that are too small for them as well and don't flatter their British figures.

So I can expect a refugee from the Village People appearing at my office with a water pistol screeching "YOU! YOU HAVE DISRESPECTED MY WIFE!" and be chased around before a frantic bumming commences?
Just a normal morning at work then?
You work in the public sector too?

Noticed this "article" was fairly hotly debated on 4chan yesterday, relevant thread is now gone though as most stuff on the site doesn't last that long. She better hope that a few /b/tards don't take an interest, though the idea of her being the new Chris Chan is slightly amusing.

Edit: I've just remembered that this isn't the first baiting article I've seen recently in the M**l...
