The average issue of the Daily Mail contains around 80,000 words - the equivalent of a paperback book - most of which are written on the day under tremendous pressure of deadlines. Huge efforts are made to ensure our journalism meets the highest possible standards of accuracy but it is inevitable that mistakes do occur. This new column provides an opportunity to correct those errors quickly and prominently.
Corrections and clarifications!

Hmmm?!

*Sigh* Until the bastards are made to print apologies or corrections on the same page and same point size with any pictures they might have used then it's just a waste of time. The PCC makes me sick.

Same here, but at least Neil Morrissey has the financial clout to take it further.

Clarifications and corrections
By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

I think I need to complain about this correction.
A joke in Andrew Pierce's column yesterday suggested that Westminster should follow horse racing by banning use of the whip. In fact the British Horseracing Authority has not banned the whip but reduced the number of times a jockey can use it in a race.
I don't think it was a joke. I don't think Pierce has ever told a joke. I don't think Pierce knows what a joke is. I don't think it resembled anything close to humour.
That's inaccurate reporting that is.

After the PCC publish their adjudication on the Amanda Knox Guilty screwup, the Mail Website actually gives reasonable prominence to the story.

No comments required....surprise, surprise. :?
