Say it would help businesses and schools plan in advance for summer
As any fule kno, the Archbishop of Canterbury picks the date out of a hat in early March. It isn't as if there is a rule for determining the date in advance.
My suggestion of 25 December got a mixed response in the comments.

I hear no suggestions that Ramadan should have a fixed date. Wonder why??

If Eric has any off-spring, you do wonder for the future of mankind

I just love how, considering it's a case of ancient formula that affects billions worldwide and goes back centuries and on a religious level has deep symbolism and significance vs what's most convenient for Barry from Peterborough, not only do we know what side the Mailites will be on but we're right!

Also spot the irony. A. N. Wilson argues that society has become more secular and this is due to commercialisation and is a bad thing. Then we're told that campaigners want to fix the date of Easter for essentially commercial reasons.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Supermarkets are rebranding traditional festive food with an Easter twist
Alex, Essex, United Kingdom, 2 hours ago

Because of PC nonsense, most manufacturers have removed the word ''Easter'' from their easter egg packaging, in case it offends anyone. Complete madness.

Most manufacturers. Not the ones who sell their products in your local supermarket, but the others. The ones you hear so much about. You couldn't name them, but you know they're out there.
