'Halve emissions or face catastrophe': Landmark UN report warns the world has just 12 YEARS to halt global warming before the planet is plunged into extreme heat, drought, floods and poverty

Trying not to shoehorn Brexit into everything but Mailites attitude towards climate change reminds me of their attitude towards Brexit.

It's either: "I don't give a shit. I'll be dead by the time the negative effects hit and fuck everyone else". Or "Project Fear".

I'll pass ( gas) before I freeze and get rid of my boiler. Oh, and stop eating meat?? Who wrote this, a vegan? It's a fact that most of our greenhouse gases are coming from China . Ask them first.

The UN is a useless flawed organisation overrun with lefty spouting windbags. On the important issues it just wrings it's hands.

That's called joined-up thinking, and will not do.

There are one line solutions for all issues, and understanding of all issues is entirely contingent not on, y'know, the tangled web and weave of reality, but is dependent on the 'solutions', because only they are understood and considered 'real'.

I.e. 'There are immigrants!' = 'Send them back!'
'Climate change might cause more migration' = 'Send them back!'
'The places they came from are now not able to support such a population' = 'Send them back!'
'We can't, on any number of levels' = 'Traitor'

All that matters is the 'Send them back!'. There is nothing else.

There's possibly some irony in being nostalgic for that.

How climate change is threatening BEER supplies: Lager could DOUBLE in price as severe droughts and heatwaves decimate barley fields, study says

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech ... l#comments

As you would expect with the Mail 90% of comments under the article deny climate change is real.

So in the build up to the climate change protest currently taking place in London the Mail have obviously been trying to belittle it at every opportunity.

This morning their headline sneered "But what about the 30,000 they claimed would show up?" and took great glee in showing photos of hardly any people. Well, I don't know what the figures are but I'm guessing the Mail were worried that they may actually be quite a lot of people so they changed their headline:

Commuters blast 'deluded zealot' eco-warriors as thousands of climate protestors bring chaos to central London by blocking roads, pulling a boat down Oxford Circus and planting trees on Waterloo Bridge
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... still.html

They have also been hoping for it to kick off so that they can brand all the protesters as criminals and thugs etc. As it stand, that hasn't been the case:
One officer said: 'It's been very peaceful so far. Everyone has been really pleasant. The only grief we've had is from passing motorists shouting at them to 'Get a job' - that's about as exciting as it's got.'
All in all, it's been a bit of a disaster for the Mail.

"Lock Them All Up"

The tolerant, free speech advocates at the Daily Mail strike again.

But the costs of Brexit are a price worth paying ey? You'd think this relatively minor disruption costing 12 mill per day might put things j to perspective for them, but nah, kick the hippies!

Four of them have now chained themselves to Jez's fence. This should cause several Mailite heads to explode as they try and work out who to root for.

The Daily Mail are SO rattled by this. Absolutely fuming, even for them. I wish I'd screenshot their very first article about it mocking and sneering at the lack of turnout.
